Amy's Fashion Design Project
We don't just supply embroidered or printed uniforms. From the beginning, way back in the mid '90s we provided an embroidery service for anyone who wanted their imagination made real in embroidery thread. This image of a masked lion-man is the creation of Amy Ho, a design student at Whitehouse Institute of Design. To preserve the fine drape of the garment it was to be stitched to, we embroidered it as a patch that Amy then sewed to the coat. Over the course of a few weeks and many emails, we'd learned that the essence of this design lay in the detail of the many smaller shapes that make up the gold metallic areas as well as the reptilian like skin.  With the use of rayon and metallic threads and focusing on multiple stitch styles and directions, we created an embroidery with texture and visual appeal.
